Art Club

This world is but a canvas to our imagination – Henry David Thoreau

YOU CAN GROW THROUGH THE ARTS…

Come experience the Addus Art Club focusing on developing an artist’s self-esteem and confidence while engaging in the arts and having fun. We provide individuals with the tools and materials to create art and the supports to define themselves as artists. The Club fosters an environment where collaboration, patience, expression and the sharing of ideas is encouraged. There are a variety of art components to experience and to develop ones skills such as: drawing, painting, drama and movie making.

Inspiration is further cultivated by travelling and exploring the vibrant Toronto city landscapes, art museums and movie cinemas; discovering their community. At the end of the sessions we celebrate the hard work and accomplishments by hosting an art exhibition. Artists will learn and grow to apply new skills in other areas of their lives while gaining friendship, confidence and pride.

  • With this program, it gives them the ability to show their creative side, their inner talents, thoughts, and ideas. It’s a way of expressing.

  • When we make the movies at Art Club, you get to see a whole different side of the participants. You get to see different emotions come out. Whether we’re doing a serious scene, an action scene or something silly…you get to see all those sides and it brings out a lot of confidence in participants.

  • The whole thing is realized in the final event where everything is shown. There’s the pictures that have been painted, there’s the movies that have been made, it’s a sense of accomplishment.

Terry O. - Parent of Artist

  • People have to have an art whether it’s music or painting… an outlet for their talent. She now has that and she’s proud of her work. The sense of pride and accomplishment is beyond value.
